Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) had the chance to see how a facility dedicated to product innovation is helping AEM member Bobcat Company accelerate ideas and speed products to market.

Sen. Heitkamp was recently invited to tour Bobcat Company’s new Acceleration Center by AEM Board member Rich Goldsbury, president of Doosan Bobcat North America and Oceania. Heitkamp also took part in the 2013 groundbreaking for the facility, located in North Dakota’s capital of Bismarck.

The visit began with a presentation on the innovation accelerated strategy and history of the Acceleration Center. A tour of the facility included design and architectural elements and highlighted the functionality of open workspace environments.

Heitkamp viewed collaboration spaces, team rooms and vitality areas. She even had a chance to operate compact equipment in the facility’s indoor driving arena. To round out the tour, Heitkamp visited the facility’s labs, walking through the technology and testing area to preview examples of both physical and virtual testing conducted on site.

“It’s great that North Dakota is home to an innovative hub like the Acceleration Center,” Heitkamp said. “I’ll continue to push for policies that support its collaborative and creative work.”

Goldsbury, who chairs AEM’s Government & Public Affairs Committee, expressed that Doosan Bobcat was pleased to host Sen. Heitkamp.

“The Acceleration Center embodies the innovative spirit of our company as we accelerate ideas and stress speed to market in this competitive global environment,” he said. “We appreciate the support of our elected officials to help Doosan Bobcat continue to thrive in the great state of North Dakota and around the world.”
