Congressman Darin LaHood representing the 18th district of Illinois visited PMO on April 23rd, meeting with PMO staff, Roland Machinery principal Matt Roland, representatives from the Illinois Manufacturing Association (IMA) and representatives from the Association of Equipment Manufacturing (AEM).
Rod Schrader and Don Funcannon co-hosted the event along with GM Jim Mathis, providing the congressman with an overview of Komatsu and our Peoria operations and discussing industry and legislative outlooks for the coming year.
We shared our wish list for Congressional agenda advancement, most notably passage of the Infrastructure bill and other opportunities for public-private partnership to help address the shortage of technicians and skilled labor in our industry.
Representative LaHood received a tour of the PMO facility and was presented with a 960E diecast model mining truck.
