Earlier this year, Manitowoc had the opportunity to join with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers to host a very special I Make America event. At Manitowoc, we’re no strangers to visits from our elected officials – we take pride in showing off the equipment we manufacture daily, and how it’s able to help keep America’s economy growing. But I have to say, this I Make America event was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
On one of the hottest days of the year, Manitowoc Cranes had the honor of welcoming the Honorable Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States. It was a unique, informative experience, learning about the policies the Administration is prioritizing, including the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Me and about 1,400 other colleagues learned that if Congress can work together to get it done, the USMCA will create 176,000 new jobs and add $68 billion in investment to our economy. That’s huge for equipment manufacturers like us.
I hope Congress keeps the ball moving on USMCA. A stronger trade deal will benefit our Shady Grove community and the entire country.
