I Make America Brings Stories to Life

This post by Angela Kay Larson, Vice President, Marketing, Blount International and Chair of the I Make America Committee, launches I Make America’s new Stories feature.
The men and women of our industry have compelling stories to tell. 1.3 million to be exact. That’s how many jobs our industry supports, and that’s how many stories we want our elected officials to hear.

That’s a big reason why for the past eight years I Make America has partnered with equipment manufacturers to bring hundreds of elected officials to shop floors across the country. From Wisconsin to Oregon, from Pennsylvania to Texas, lawmakers have been treated to a firsthand look at equipment manufacturing and a chance to connect with the men and women who make America!
We want our elected officials to know that the decisions they make in Washington directly impact manufacturing workers, their families, and their communities. We also want the 1.3 million men and women of our industry to know that their voices matter. To give them another platform to share their stories, we’re launching a new feature on the I Make America website: Stories.
By visiting www.imakeamerica.org/stories, elected officials, industry stakeholders, partner organizations, and I Make America supporters will hear directly from the men and women of the industry about the issues that impact them and what they are doing to help advocate on behalf of equipment manufacturing in the United States.
In the days ahead we’ll publish our first series of stories. Meanwhile, we’re inviting all of our supporters to share their thoughts on issues that matter to the industry to do so. If you have a story to tell, we will make sure our elected officials hear about it.
With your help we’ll be able to make an even bigger impact advocating for policies that support equipment manufacturing jobs and help America’s equipment manufacturers grow their businesses, and invest in their employees and their communities.
