The I Make America campaign returned to Omaha, Nebraska last week for the second event of the year in the Cornhusker State.

Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE) visited Elliott Equipment Company for a tour of the facility and an opportunity to meet with company leaders and employees about the issues that matter to equipment manufacturers. Bacon joined Elliott Equipment Company President and CEO Jim Glazer on an outdoor stage set up on a HiReach Aerial Work Platform to salute the 150 employees who power the company.

“We greatly appreciated having Congressman Bacon visit with our employees and hear firsthand about the issues that impact the equipment manufacturing industry,” said Glazer. “Now more than ever it is important that our elected officials in Washington promote pro-manufacturing policies such as infrastructure investment, tax reform and free trade.”

Bacon had a chance to join Elliott Vice President of Operations David Joynt for a tour of three different buildings at Elliott, where employees do fabrication, painting and assembly.

“I appreciated the chance to meet with the employees of Elliott Equipment Company to discuss the need for expanded vocational training and comprehensive tax reform. Foreign trade is important to the success of equipment manufacturers in Nebraska, and NAFTA has played an important role in the success of Elliott Equipment Company,” said Bacon.

The event last week is the second I Make America event hosted by Elliott Equipment since 2014.
