Rep. Roskam Headlines I Make America Event at General Kinematics

Congressman Peter Roskam headlined the second I Make America event of 2017 on Monday, as the tour moved on to General Kinematics in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Rep. Roskam toured the 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and met with the 160 men and women that engineer and manufacture state-of-the-art vibratory and rotary equipment for the foundry, mining, bulk processing and other industries.

"I enjoyed visiting General Kinematics in Crystal Lake and meeting with the talented men and women of the equipment manufacturing industry," Roskam said. "Local manufacturers like General Kinematics create high-paying jobs in our community and across the country."

As chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee’s subcommittee on tax policy, Roskam is a key voice on tax reforms that could improve equipment manufacturers’ global competitiveness.

Roskam also spoke with employees in a town hall setting about many of those issues important to the continued growth of the equipment manufacturing industry and their community, including tax reform, trade and infrastructure investment.

The 2017 I Make America Tour rolls on with additional events in the Midwest scheduled for the coming weeks.
