Bring Your A-Game to Spray Drift Control Demo

A planned demonstration of the latest spray drift control technology needs ag sprayer manufacturers to bring their A-game.

Building off of its successful tour with officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at the 2015 Farm Progress Show, AEM together with the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) is organizing a spray drift control field demo on June 15 at the Wye Research & Education Center in Queenstown, Maryland.

Invited participants include a wider audience from EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs along with state pesticide control officials who will be in the Washington, D.C. area for a meeting.

To showcase the full range of modern spray drift control, AEM is asking member volunteers to bring one of their latest pieces of equipment and have at least one qualified person present at the demo to highlight a specific drift control tool.

"These opportunities to get EPA officials out of their offices and show them what our industry is doing of its own accord to control drift are important in our long-term efforts to stave off regulations dictating equipment design," said Nick Tindall, AEM director, government affairs. "They also allow us to build positive relationships and open new lines of communication with key EPA personnel."

Tindall asked that members contact him or Anita Sennett, AEM director, agriculture product management, if they are interested in participating. They should also indicate what specific spray drift control tool they wish to feature in the demo. Interested members will be given further details.
